The DeTAL Center is building curriculum to provide training to law enforcement and community members in the art of de-escalation, while using the virtual world to provide safe, lived experience activities for everyone.

The DeTAL Center project partners will develop criteria and evaluate strategy for de-escalation certification based on proficiency in knowledge and skills identified through the training modalities.

The DeTAL Center is administered by the Western Illinois University (WIU) Department of Psychology with several partners and funded through the Department of Justice Community Oriented Police Service (COPS) Office.
